·        This semester I did not necessarily fail a class or an exam but a goal I had set for myself. I had promised myself that I would not fall behind in my online classes and be scrambling for exams like I did last semester. By coming to ENT in person and watching my elective livestreamed I was mostly on top of it until my social schedule and sorority friends limited me from watching the 5 hours of economics lectures that were assigned every week. By the time spring break had finished I had over 30 hours of lectures that I needed to catch up on in 1 week for the upcoming exam. I feel like I had failed myself and fallen back into bad habits that led to my unsatisfactory grade last semester.

·        I learned that while a busy social schedule is fun and good for your happiness, choosing to put social or sorority life above your goals and the time required for your classes is never the correct choice. This was never a problem in high school because outside of the 8 hours I attended class I was able to have social time and not fall behind in classes that  I already have to attend. This was my largest adjustment in joining the business school at UF. I however did buckle down and watch all my lectures and scored a 97 on the exam.

·        Failure is probably my biggest fear. I had never failed or dropped a class in my life even during my AA degree at community college. At a school like UF I thought that I would thrive, but the fear of failure has just further pushed me to work harder. When I had to tell my friends that I was locked in my room every day and unable to spend any time with them was hard. I missed so many things that I would’ve been able to attend if I had simply managed my time better in the month before. Transferring to a college that didn’t primarily use Electronic Platform crossed my mind, but I realized that there was no way I was going to change my whole major because I fall behind on videos. There are so many ways to solve that problem.

In this class I have seen that failure is not something that tells shows you need to change what you are doing, but rather an indicator that you should change how you are doing it. My approach to this online class was wrong, not the fact that I am taking an online class. Being able to adapt and work through these problems to reach success is mainly what this class has taught me.

  2. Hey Jordan,

I really liked how you stated that although failure is your biggest fear, you use it to motivate you to accomplish great things. I feel as though this class has definitely had an impact on myself as well as to how I view failure and I do believe it is one of the key takeaways. I also think it's pretty cool to see that you've made the realization about prioritizing Greek life. It can be very hard with all the events going on around you so well done! Good job on your post overall!

14A- Halfway Reflection

14A- 1.       Tenacity is a competency:   In order to keep up with this course I have created an pre-deadline for myself to ensure all my assignments are completed before the due date and a high quality. Developing this habit has allowed me to manage my time more accurately and not turn in lackluster work. Because this class requires some outside of the library interaction, looking at assignments the week before they are due is now a behavior I have tried to implement this in the past few weeks when the assignments required interviews, which are not possible in the library at 2 am when you’re trying to beat a deadline. In order to be successful in ENT you must interact with other people and do so in a timely manner. 2.       Tenacity is also about attitude: When I was extremely a couple of weeks ago I put off all of my ENT homework because it is usually the last thing due for the week. By doing this however, I found myse...

29A 1.       Opportunity ·         New environmental protection movements have brought to light how environmentally damaging plastic is to our ecosystems, especially our oceans. The single use plastics are the greatest under fire because they are disposed of in great numbers and do not decompose, thus leaving trash to pollute the oceans and lands. ·         After a video emerged of a sea turtle having a straw stuck in its nostril, the push to stop the use of plastic straws was born. It began with the policy of not giving out straws unless asked, then to straw-less cups, and finally some cities have completely banned the distribution of plastic straws by restaurants and other straw serving establishments. With this came the implementation of paper straws in every restaurant, coffee shop, bar, and gas station. Paper straws were simply awful. They disintegrate in your drink and become l...
