20A- Growing your Social Capital

20A- Growing your Social Capital Domain Expert: Domain Expert: 1.       Chanelle Sladics 2.         Co-founder and Chief Visionary Officer of Simply Straws. She has been a successful supplier in the reusable straw market and has built a popular brand surrounding her product. Her marketing has been directed to individuals who value their effect on the environment which is exactly the market I am trying to tap. 3.       I contacted this individual through their personal website’s “contact” tab. 4.       I explained that this budding idea from my entrepreneurship class and asked for advice on how to market my product in a way that will be popular to individual consumers. She did not reply so I doubt there is an expectation for a favor in the future. 5.       While Chanelle did not answer my message, she did inspire me to do research on her ...

19A-Idea Napkin 2 ·         My name is Jordan Jacobs. After reflecting on what my closest friends and family have said about me I have come to the conclusion that I am a hardworking, organized individual who never settles for anything less than perfection. I am also passionate about things I am involved in and feel things very deeply. This leads me to spend massive amounts of time trying to ensure the best possible outcome for all parties involved. I aspire to be a leader in an organization, and one that cares personally for each and every employee and client. If I were to start this business I would be fully committed to its success and building its popularity. I would very likely invest all personal time to make contacts with customers and use my passion to connect with employees in a way that makes them feel valued. ·         The product I am offering has not changed. I still plan to produce bamboo straws a...

17A Video: https://youtu.be/Widubs5eGIU 2. Reflection: In my previous video, I only had two comments of opinion on my post. The commenters said that my video and speaking level was high quality and my transitions were smooth. Because there were no criticisms of my video I showed it to my mom hoping for some notes. She said that I stuttered a bit and looked away too much. In my new video I tried to talk slower and not stutter, hoping to make more eye contact with the filmer. The feedback I did get was right, I just wish there had been more negative comments. 3. Based on my feedback I made my video a bit longer and took time to pronounce my words fully. I also tried to stay locked on the camera without any distraction.

While my product can be sold to both individuals and businesses, for this exercise I am focusing this assignment on a small business owner.                This “avatar” is a 28 year old woman who owns a small coffee and tea shop on the outskirts of the college campus of Gainesville. She attended Santa Fe to study finance for a few semesters before realizing school was not her forte and she wanted a more laid-back lifestyle. While she wasn’t native to Gainesville after living there, she felt comfortable with the college atmosphere. She was a member of the climate action club and volunteered on the weekend at the animal shelter. She started recycling and “going green” after coming to Gainesville. In her free time she likes ride her bike or go for hikes.                Her everyday outfit is usually a t-shirt, Nike shorts, and either Birkenstocks...

16A- What's your special sauce?

16A- 16A- Special Sauce Five ways in which I think I have human capital: ·         Determination: When I set my mind to something, I have no breaks until I fully achieve that goal. This has allowed me to be able to study for hours on end and focus, yielding high results academically. ·         Leadership: I have a natural leading personality and have held several leadership roles in organizations. This gives me an attitude of formulating plans and running meetings without needing other leaders to take charge. ·         Independence: My whole life I have been a self-starter. I do things on my own and don’t ask for help with much.  This is a great addition to human capital because it means that I do not require much attention or partnership. ·         Communication: If there was ever an over communicator, I would be it. I like to have...

15A- Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 2

15A- Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 2 Findings and Conclusions:                My interviews were mostly helpful in determining where consumers are purchasing straws, but it was also very helpful in helping pinpoint the price range consumers in this segment would purchase the good at. The first interviewee, Brittany, was able to say that she only buys things for her kids in-store. This is because she prefers to look at them in person and determine the quality before she spends her money on it. Another interviewee stated that she only buys items such as straws, utensils, napkins, plates, etc. online because in store packaging does not ensure sanitation. She is fearful that some people open packages of these items and their germs would be brought into your home once you buy it. This may be a result of the newest Corona Virus trend. My final interviewee said that he buys both online and in stores, but when searc...
