30A

30A
This semester I had a few moments where I dreaded doing the assignments for this class and did not want to comment on another student’s post before Monday. I think that the most formative experience was when I had to explain who wanted my product. Before I had always just thought of what my product was and how to make it. I never had worried about the success of other people buying it. This made me realize that it may be harder than I expected to convince businesses to use my product.
In 10 years, I will still vividly remember the face of a close friend when I told her that bamboo straws were the future. She looked at me like I was crazy. And maybe I am, but I truly believe that this could be the next big thing. My most joyous experience would be when my friends and family had to record the interviews about me. This was a great confidence boost and really helped me nail down some of my strengths for the upcoming secret sauce assignment. I am most proud of myself for getting a response from a community restaurant owner who was able to give me great feedback that I feel really helped me.
Now that we have reached the end of the semester I do not feel as though I am a full entrepreneur, however I feel like I have adapted enough of the mindset in order to identify potential opportunities for innovation. In this sense I may have an entrepreneur’s mindset, however I do not believe I have the competitive spirit that is necessary for entrepreneurship.
For students who may be taking this class next semester my main tip would be to attend class. This will help you keep on top of the online lectures. In order to perform best in the class, I would say to look at assignments AND THEIR DESCRIPTIONS at the beginning of the week. Looking the day or even the night before they are do could be a risky thing to do because there are so many interviews required for some assignments. You must have a go getter attitude about this class and be enthusiastic about what you are doing. In order to achieve this, it is important that you choose a product or service at the beginning of the semester that you truly believe in and would pursue in real life.

26A ·         This semester I did not necessarily fail a class or an exam but a goal I had set for myself. I had promised myself that I would not fall behind in my online classes and be scrambling for exams like I did last semester. By coming to ENT in person and watching my elective livestreamed I was mostly on top of it until my social schedule and sorority friends limited me from watching the 5 hours of economics lectures that were assigned every week. By the time spring break had finished I had over 30 hours of lectures that I needed to catch up on in 1 week for the upcoming exam. I feel like I had failed myself and fallen back into bad habits that led to my unsatisfactory grade last semester. ·         I learned that while a busy social schedule is fun and good for your happiness, choosing to put social or sorority life above your goals and the time required for your classes is never the correct ch...

14A- Halfway Reflection

14A- 1.       Tenacity is a competency:   In order to keep up with this course I have created an pre-deadline for myself to ensure all my assignments are completed before the due date and a high quality. Developing this habit has allowed me to manage my time more accurately and not turn in lackluster work. Because this class requires some outside of the library interaction, looking at assignments the week before they are due is now a behavior I have tried to implement this in the past few weeks when the assignments required interviews, which are not possible in the library at 2 am when you’re trying to beat a deadline. In order to be successful in ENT you must interact with other people and do so in a timely manner. 2.       Tenacity is also about attitude: When I was extremely a couple of weeks ago I put off all of my ENT homework because it is usually the last thing due for the week. By doing this however, I found myse...

29A 1.       Opportunity ·         New environmental protection movements have brought to light how environmentally damaging plastic is to our ecosystems, especially our oceans. The single use plastics are the greatest under fire because they are disposed of in great numbers and do not decompose, thus leaving trash to pollute the oceans and lands. ·         After a video emerged of a sea turtle having a straw stuck in its nostril, the push to stop the use of plastic straws was born. It began with the policy of not giving out straws unless asked, then to straw-less cups, and finally some cities have completely banned the distribution of plastic straws by restaurants and other straw serving establishments. With this came the implementation of paper straws in every restaurant, coffee shop, bar, and gas station. Paper straws were simply awful. They disintegrate in your drink and become l...
