2. Reflection:
In my previous video, I only had two comments of opinion on my post. The commenters said that my video and speaking level was high quality and my transitions were smooth. Because there were no criticisms of my video I showed it to my mom hoping for some notes. She said that I stuttered a bit and looked away too much. In my new video I tried to talk slower and not stutter, hoping to make more eye contact with the filmer. The feedback I did get was right, I just wish there had been more negative comments.

3. Based on my feedback I made my video a bit longer and took time to pronounce my words fully. I also tried to stay locked on the camera without any distraction.

  1. I had a lot the same issues as you with my first elevator pitch. I was criticized for my delivery, which including stuttering and poor eye contact. I felt weird staring into the camera because I feel like sometimes gestures and varying eye contact can be advantageous and that staring down the audience can make them uncomfortable. However, I think you did a good job improving your pitch. You are definitely on the right path and I don't thing the time length of the pitch should be too much of a concern. As long as you hit 60 seconds, you are good.

  2. Hey Jordan,
I too had problems with maintaining eye contact and not getting distracted. Based on your newest elevator pitch though, I feel like you have greatly improve on this! I really like how you were engaging right off the bat and hooked the audience with a statistic. You also seemed a lot more confident and comfortable with your material which really shows that you put thought into what you were gonna say. I think overall you delivered your presentation very well.

26A ·         This semester I did not necessarily fail a class or an exam but a goal I had set for myself. I had promised myself that I would not fall behind in my online classes and be scrambling for exams like I did last semester. By coming to ENT in person and watching my elective livestreamed I was mostly on top of it until my social schedule and sorority friends limited me from watching the 5 hours of economics lectures that were assigned every week. By the time spring break had finished I had over 30 hours of lectures that I needed to catch up on in 1 week for the upcoming exam. I feel like I had failed myself and fallen back into bad habits that led to my unsatisfactory grade last semester. ·         I learned that while a busy social schedule is fun and good for your happiness, choosing to put social or sorority life above your goals and the time required for your classes is never the correct ch...

14A- Halfway Reflection

14A- 1.       Tenacity is a competency:   In order to keep up with this course I have created an pre-deadline for myself to ensure all my assignments are completed before the due date and a high quality. Developing this habit has allowed me to manage my time more accurately and not turn in lackluster work. Because this class requires some outside of the library interaction, looking at assignments the week before they are due is now a behavior I have tried to implement this in the past few weeks when the assignments required interviews, which are not possible in the library at 2 am when you’re trying to beat a deadline. In order to be successful in ENT you must interact with other people and do so in a timely manner. 2.       Tenacity is also about attitude: When I was extremely a couple of weeks ago I put off all of my ENT homework because it is usually the last thing due for the week. By doing this however, I found myse...

29A 1.       Opportunity ·         New environmental protection movements have brought to light how environmentally damaging plastic is to our ecosystems, especially our oceans. The single use plastics are the greatest under fire because they are disposed of in great numbers and do not decompose, thus leaving trash to pollute the oceans and lands. ·         After a video emerged of a sea turtle having a straw stuck in its nostril, the push to stop the use of plastic straws was born. It began with the policy of not giving out straws unless asked, then to straw-less cups, and finally some cities have completely banned the distribution of plastic straws by restaurants and other straw serving establishments. With this came the implementation of paper straws in every restaurant, coffee shop, bar, and gas station. Paper straws were simply awful. They disintegrate in your drink and become l...
